Hyperadvancing eHealth solutions
Market research by the WHO and the European Commission, among others, shows that the difference between the average number of years of life and the average number of healthy years of life in Western economies is about 20 to 25%.
Apart from the impact on our personal lives, this has a profound impact on various domains in our society, such as rising costs and decreasing accessibility to healthcare, an underperforming economy, increasing loneliness and isolation, etc.
The market for prevention and hybrid care is at the beginning of exponential growth. Technology, such as wearables, sensors, apps and all kinds of AI applications seem to be the solution. However, the challenges of using them meaningfully, effectively and more easily and affordably implementing them are greater than ever.
Televitas is the answer.
Challenges
An effective holistic approach to prevention and hybrid care implies seamless collaboration between all actors involved: technology companies, health professionals and the individual, possibly extended to include the work environment, financing services, friends and acquaintances, etc. It is crucial to organize the data and communication flows between all those involved as optimally as possible, while offering flexibility to all those involved to be able to do this from their own working environment and with their own technology.
Televitas responds to this challenge by building an open and scalable ecosystem that allows all actors in healthcare (technology providers, healthcare professionals, public authorities, public and private health insurers, etc.) to provide care as effectively and efficiently as possible.
As an innovative partner for forward-looking, affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, Televitas offers an answer to these challenges!
The solution
Televitas' open and modular software platform accelerates the design and implementation of hybrid care pathways, both for prevention, well-being and cure.
- Healthcare professionals : can easily experiment with different medical and/or commercial sensors, wearables or apps without additional integrations or screens. All relevant data is visualized within their known working environment.
- Patients/end users : get a clear and integrated insight into their data from different sources, are automatically monitored when threshold values are exceeded, can communicate via various media (even via their own TV) with healthcare providers, friends, family, etc.
- Employers : have the opportunity to set up prevention programs in a flexible way, to which various health professionals, social service providers or reimbursers can also be affiliated.
- Third parties, such as insurers, health insurance funds, social secretariats, public health agencies, etc., can participate in the various care pathways without additional integrations.
The Televitas eHealth platform consists of the following components:
- The Televitas Data Hub: an intelligent data platform that visualizes data from sensors, apps, wearables or (medical) software applications correctly and in the desired format in existing medical software (for doctors, hospitals, nursing services, care centers, nursing homes,...). The Data Hub is AI-ready, which means that different AI models can be linked, for example in the context of prevention or prediction. Currently, over 100 data generators are connected: medical (AND, Berry, Omron, CardiacSense, Aktiia, ...), activity trackers (Whoop, Garmin, FitBit, Oura, Coros, Polar, ...), smartphone integrations (Apple Health, GoogleFit, Samsun Health, Huawei, ...), fitness & training devices (Peloton, Zwift, Under Armour, RideWithGPS, CarioMood, ...).
- Data connectors for various sensors, wearables and apps, ranging from environmental sensors (humidity, CO2,...) to well-being sensors (sleep, movement, etc.) and health sensors (blood pressure, saturation, glycemia, weight, fall detection...) or smart watches.
- The Televitas Widget : a powerful data visualization solution within all common patient software packages.
- The Televitas Communication Hub (for non-digital native end users or specific care pathways): a communication device consisting of an HD camera, an infrared camera, microphones, radar and privacy shutter. This Interactive Hub allows communication over TV via tablet, smartphone, PC or any other TV. This can be used for sharing videos or photos, asking questions or reminding appointments, measuring movement, emotions and certain biometrics, video calling or broadcasting programs to a chosen target group. For other end users or care pathways, the Communication Hub will be replaced by a Televitas App.
- A link with a digital tarification service, so that all services provided by healthcare providers can be correctly billed (with health insurers, private insurers, etc.)

- Improving well-being at work
- Reducing costs due to absenteeism, reduced concentration,..
Application examples
For employers/employees:
Prevention, absenteeism, reintegration into the workplace
HR departments (together with social partners, social secretariats and facilitating companies) can shape and test their programmes on prevention, reducing absenteeism and facilitating reintegration in the workplace via the data made available by their employees via the Televitas platform.
Benefits for the companies:
- Reduction of costs related to burnout, absenteeism, bore-out, etc.
- Feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs
- Possibility to connect and share data within the ecosystem without (IT) integrations or expensive developments (health coaches, social secretariats, fitness centers, food companies,...)
Benefits for employees:
- Improving well-being and health
For healthcare professionals/patients:
Tele-consultation
Televitas facilitates the quick and easy set-up of teleconsultation services between doctors and patients. Both in-house and third-party teleconsultation software can be used for this purpose. Televitas provides an integrated presentation of measured values and histories and links to the patient file.
Some of the advantages for the patient:
Televitas facilitates the quick and easy set-up of teleconsultation services between doctors and patients. Both in-house and third-party teleconsultation software can be used for this purpose. Televitas provides an integrated presentation of measured values and histories and links to the patient file.
Some of the advantages for the patient:
- Consultations can be done securely from a distance
- Measured values from wearables or sensors, among other things, can be visualized directly at the doctor's office. Manual input is avoided as much as possible
- The teleconsultation is reimbursable by the health insurance.
Some advantages for the caregiver:
- Teleconsultations via Televitas use the existing nomenclature and are linked to automatic pricing and billing
- Fewer trips for (specialised) care providers and therefore no time lost due to traffic jams at peak hours
- Continuous availability of measured values, making the consultation more effective and efficient
- Simplified succession planning
Tele-monitoring
Various personal and environmental parameters of the person in need of care can be continuously monitored and analyzed. By linking to a professional, 24/24 alarm center, the patient and care provider are optimally coordinated. For the measurement of personal parameters, Televitas uses automatically recording sensors as much as possible, which reduces the risk of error measurements. Televitas' open ecosystem allows for registered and approved sensors from professional suppliers. Self-registration by the patient is possible, but is less accurate and punctual.
Some of the advantages for the patient:
- Monitoring of health values with accompanying feedback leads to better self-monitoring in which care recipients can better and more consciously check whether their measured values remain within certain (agreed) limits.
- Patients do not have to submit their data.
- Better follow-up
Some advantages for the caregiver:
- The caregiver can remotely monitor the self-measured health data and contact the patient if something is wrong via the integrated alarm management.
- The healthcare provider can keep track of the self-measured health data remotely in Televitas and its own systems (data lake, EHR, EMD,...).
Other examples of applications are tele-expertise, in which 1st, 2nd and 3rd line care providers can consult with each other remotely about a patient/care recipient, and tele-assistance, in which a (senior) care provider remotely directs a medical intervention that another (junior) care provider performs.
Milestones: what has Televitas achieved so far?
