Onze container is misschien niet zo groot maar de impact ervan wel. De centrale waarover we momenteel in onderhandeling zijn met de Keniaanse overheid zal stroom bieden aan 25.000 personen. Toch een serieuze hefboom als je dat cijfer begint te vermenigvuldigen.
Een start-up moet net zoals een kindje eerst leren kruipen, dan stappen en dan kunnen we beginnen hardlopen. Het huidige business plan is erop gebaseerd om de bestaande pilots op te schalen en aan te tonen dat het model vermenigvuldigbaar is. Om vele toestellen te kunnen leveren als dienst heb je partnerschappen en aparte financieringsstructuren nodig. We zijn al bezig om aan deze weg te timmeren maar zoals gezegd stap voor stap.
Net daarom is het interessant om vandaag mee te investeren want het groeipotentieel is nog zo ontzettend groot.

Not having a basin/dam has it benefits for the environment. But it also increases your dependancy on the river flow. A changing climate results in a more unpredictable rainfall, hence a more volatile electricity supply.
Hydropower being one of Africa's main electricity sources, does the hydrobox has a technical advantage over other hydropowerstations when rain and river flows are relatively low and the price of power is high?

En offrant Hydrobox comme PRODUIT on envisage les agences nationaux d'électrification, des usines,
des fonds d'investissements qui prennent en charge le coût d'achat. Dans ce modèle on peut actifs dans beaucoup d'autres pays. Le coût de l'installation dépend de la puissance mais en gros disons entre 100.000 et 900.000 EUR.
Le stockage d'énergie en principe n'est pas nécessaire car production d'électricité 24/7.

Hi Gilles, the impact of the Hydrobox on the environment is extremely low due to the off-the-river set up (no construction of dams that would otherwise create barriers for fish) and the safety precautions taken in the construction (e.g. protective grid at the intake to avoid fish would swim into the turbine). In addition, only a small portion of the river is deviated and 50m further the water goes back into the river so there is no structural change in the natural course of the river. Turbulent produceert en levert innovatieve en economisch interessante waterkrachtturbines. Hun turbine is zeer geschikt voor sites met laag hoogteverschil (0-10m) waar we graag gebruik van maken op sites die zich daartoe lenen.
Wij zijn een projectontwikkelaar en leveren een totaaloplossing tot en met de energieproductie. We identificeren sites, zorgen voor de nodige vergunningen, voeren de technische en economische haalbaarheidsstudies uit, zorgen voor financiering, kopen de turbine aan bij een producent (Turbulent of andere, in functie van de kenmerken van de site), voeren de nodige werken uit, installeren de centrale, rusten deze uit met onze SMART technologie en staan in voor de opvolging en onderhoud zodat deze stroom blijft produceren.
Een totaaloplossing dus omdat we uit onze ervaring in Afrika weten dat enkel de technologie aanbieden vaak niet voldoende is om tot duurzame projecten te komen.
